Diwali is the festival of lights and celebrates the triumph of good over evil.
Diwali also celebrates a new year which is a time for many people in Indian and throughout the world to start new endeavors, and make their homes neat and clean to welcome luck and good fortune during
Diwali. During this season of festivities, many people throw Diwali parties and exchange gifts and sweets.
A friend of mine just bought a new place and she hosted a "Welcome Home" Diwali party. These diwali cookie favors celebrate the bright and vibrant colors of Diwali and they are decorated with a gold "Om", the utmost sacred symbol in Hinduism.
Here are the cookies with only the first layer of icing.
The Om is hand-written and 'painted" with gold luster dust.
